Each piece of fruit is molded with steam heat and coated with a paper pulp liquid and dried so that the fruit will take a latex paint. The driy Styrofoam fruit is then hand painted. Details like speckling and brush strokes are applied with a fine brush. The fruit is again dried and finally a coat of clear thin latex is applied for a durable, beautiful, and natural looking finish. The fruit sprays are assembled by hand with the molded, silk screened polyester silk leaves, berries and tendrils. Then it is inspected and packed for a final product you wouldn't believe could be sold for $2.79 per piece after all that.
